Lokman Norazmi

Lokman Norazmi is an early career researcher at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, University of Tasmania (UTAS), Australia and holds an academic position at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. He obtained his PhD in Fisheries Studies from UTAS in 2016. Working as part of an interdisciplinary research group on genetic control of pest fish he has established an army of Trojan chromosome soldiers (fish) to fight a war against alien mosquitofish invasion in Australia. The research forms a blueprint for controlling many other aquatic invasive pests at large spatial scales.
