Katja Windt is currently Member of the Managing Board of the SMS group GmbH. Prof Dr Windt was Professor of Global Production Logistics at Jacobs University, Bremen until 2018. Her research promises to ensure acquaintance with the unbalance between load and capacities. With an academic and professional career that spans between Bremen, Hannover, France and the US, Windt has been awarded with the Alfried Krupp Prize for Young University Teachers in 2008 and named as “Professor of the Year 2008” by the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers. Katja Windt aims to improve planning and control methods better dealing with key limitations of logistics, especially a growing number of product variants, demand variations and networked processes.
