Hui-Ming Cheng is a leading scientist in carbon materials and energy-related materials and a Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He is a Professor at both the Institute of Metal Research (IMR) and the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT), CAS, and the founding director of the Advanced Carbon Research Division at IMR and the Institute of Technology for Carbon Neutrality at SIAT. Hui-Ming has been working on advanced materials and devices for electronics, energy production and storage. His start-up companies produce and sell graphene and hexagonal boron nitride membranes with ultra-high thermal conductivities for the thermal management of 5G electronics, graphite anode materials for EV batteries, lithium ion batteries for low temperature applications, etc.
