Hemanshi Galaiya is a PhD student at the University of Queensland. Her research is focused on utilising bacteria to sequester industrial waste gases into useful products. Hemanshi is passionate about increasing the quality of education, especially for youth and women. This has led her to create Young Stripes, a STEM outreach movement that has already impacted 1500 students. Hemanshi has received many awards for her work. In addition to being a role model for young adults and women in STEM, Hemanshi is actively supporting the next generation so that they can realise their full socio-economic potential.
