Gerardo Ceballos is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Ecology at UNAM and a major figure in global conservation science, particularly researching and actively tackling the loss of biodiversity in his native Mexico and globally. Thus, Dr. Ceballos is Lead Researcher at the EcoLabUNAM. His theoretical work resulted in the first evaluation ever of the conservation status of the entire class of land mammals on a global scale.
