Franziska is an Immunologist, dedicating her PhD to disentangle the yet elusive mechanisms of auto-immunity in Rheumatoid Arthritis. Her research focus is the intersection of immunity and metabolism and converges biology and patient-side medicine by implementing multiomics approaches. Besides her lab work, Franziska is eager to share her knowledge and skills by supervising undergrad students and by initiating new collaborations and networks in- and outside her field. Prospectively, she aims to introduce young people to research and especially to get young women in touch with science.  Prior to her PhD in the Rheumatology Department of the University Hospital Heidelberg, she completed her Master’s degree at the Ruprecht-Karls University of Heidelberg in Infection Biology and holds a BSc. in Biomedicine from the Julius-Maximilians University Würzburg.
