As Executive Director of the Institute of Strategic and Development Communication at the Nasarawa State University, Nigeria, Dandaura collaborated with SciDev.Net, UK and Robert Bosch Stiftung to develop and integrate a model Science Communication curriculum that is now being used by some Universities in Africa. Dandaura is a critic, writer, media producer, festival curator and professor of development communication with vast experience in science communication education and cyber ethics. He has for over three decades, functioned as assessor, lecturer and curriculum advisor to many Universities in Africa, Asia and Europe.
Dandaura is co-author of two recent valuable publications that facilitate the training of Journalists and Scientists in Africa: Communicating Science in Africa and The Art of Science Communication in Africa. Annually he facilitates master classes on science reporting and improves public understanding of science through establishment of Science clubs, cafes, technology parks and social media networking opportunities between scientists and journalists.
Dandaura has consistently offered valuable advisory services to key international agencies like UNESCO, UNICEF, European Union, African Union, Ford Foundation, British Council, and Governments of Hong Kong, Nigeria, in the areas of communication, development studies, culture and the creative industries.
