DOCU-DRAMA TO ENGAGE THE HEARING IMPAIRED

This initiative engages deaf students - 18-year-olds and older - together with their families and communities through docu-drama formats to guide and strengthen the genetics research of hearing impairment. A science communication toolkit composed of two 25-minute docu-dramas was developed for that purpose: one film based on sign language is used by researchers to engage deaf students in Ghanaian schools. The second film - using sound - is directed at their families and communities.
