Daniel Leidner

Daniel Leidner received his doctorate in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Bremen in 2017. His thesis was awarded with the 2018 Helmholtz Doctoral Prize for Astronautics and the 2018 euRobotics Georges Giralt PhD Award. He was selected Technology Review Innovator under 35 in 2019. Since 2020, he is head of the Failure and Uncertainty Tolerant Universal Robot Operations group. Based on his experience with assistance robots for astronauts, he intends to tackle the grand challenges of our time with service robots for elderly care, sustainable crop cultivation, and pandemic response.
