Cédric Villani is coordinator of the excellence laboratory CARMIN, federating all four national institutes of mathematics in France since 2011. Since 2009, he is director of the Institut Henri Poincaré in Paris at “House of Mathematics”. Before, Villain was professor and researcher at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (2000-2009). In his work he focuses on genetic theory, optimal transports, partial differential equations in statistical mechanics and on mathematical physics.
