Quantum computing (QC) represents a fundamental paradigm shift for information processing by utilizing quantum mechanical phenomena to address currently unsolvable challenges. Realizing its potential, however, requires many orders of magnitude more quantum bits than any current platform can provide.

ARQUE Systems, a bootstrapped spin-off of RWTH Aachen and Forschungszentrum Jülich, leverages German semiconductor technology to develop and commercialize QC systems reaching far beyond current capabilities based on electron spins in silicon. ARQUE‘s patented quantum bit architecture addresses the key scaling challenges to unlock industry-relevant applications, e.g., optimizations in the fields of logistics and finance, secure cryptography or a significant expansion of the capabilities of artificial intelligence, with an estimated market volume of USD 450-850 billion. Since QC therefore has both security policy and socio-political dimensions, ARQUE is deeply committed to responsible QC.
