Jana Havlíková has been Czech Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Innovation since January 2022, with responsibilities centred on science diplomacy, research security, and advancing technologies, such as semiconductors, quantum computing and AI. From 2014 to 2017, she held the roles of Chief Advisor and Head of the Minister’s Cabinet at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, where she focused on the sustainability of the social services system. Prior to that, she actively participated in international compensation programmes for slave and forced labour and other Nazi war crimes. She has long been active in non-profit organizations that research the injustice suffered during the Nazi regime, preserve the memories of survivors, and promote democratic values and human rights.
