Dr. Windie Höfs is a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine (Münster, Germany), studying how physical forces from tissue and cell architectures influence stem cell fate transitions in the adult stem cell niche to enhance tissue regeneration. She received her degrees from University College London (UCL) and completed her PhD at the Francis Crick Institute (London, UK), focusing on the dynamics of a mechanosensitive protein in mammalian cells under varying mechanical conditions. Windie is attending the Falling Walls Conference through the Zia Visible Women in Science Fellowship (2024) awarded by the Zeit newspaper, which aims to support and highlight the work of talented female scientists.
