Suzana Nunes is a Professor of Chemical and Environmental Science and Engineering at KAUST, where she was also Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs. She is the laureate of the 2023 L’Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science International Award for Africa and the Arab States recognized for her achievements in chemistry. She is elected Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences, Sao Paulo Academy of Science, Brazil, North American Membrane Society, Honorary Member of the European Membrane Society and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK. Before joining KAUST, she led research on membranes for renewable energy at Helmholtz Association in Germany. Her lab at KAUST is dedicated to new polymeric materials and their translation into membranes for sustainable separations.
