Steve Albrecht

Steve Albrecht is the head of the Department of Perovskite Tandem Solar Cells at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) and a Professor at the Technische Universität Berlin. He is also a co-founder of Quantum Yield Berlin GmbH, a spin-off of HZB. Within a span of eight years, Prof. Albrecht’s group has set world records in solar cell efficiencies on four occasions, demonstrating their ongoing success in a highly competitive field. He has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the Apple of inspiration award awarded by the Slovenian President (2018), the Berliner Wissenschaftspreis (2019), and the Karl-Scheel-Preis of the Physikalische Gesellschaft zu Berlin (2019). Prof. Albrecht studied physics from the University of Potsdam.
