Ramona Backhaus
Ramona Backhaus (1988) conducts scientific research in the field of staffing and staff development in long-term care. She works as a senior researcher at Maastricht University’s (the Netherlands) Department of Health Services Research and within the Living Lab in Ageing and Long-Term Care. The Living Lab in Ageing and Long-Term Care is a successful formal collaboration between research and teaching institutions and care organizations providing long-term care, using team science, joint appointments and multidisciplinarity as core concepts. Ramona is seen as an expert in the field of nursing home staffing, which has led to (inter)national collaborations on this topic. She holds a PhD from Maastricht University and was trained as a health scientist (MSc Health Economics, Policy and Law (Erasmus University, the Netherlands)). Ramona is passionate about improving quality of work in healthcare, science communication, new work, and evidence-based policymaking.
