Rackeb Tesfaye is a science communicator and a PhD candidate in the Integrated Program of Neuroscience at McGill University. Her research investigates biological and behavioural factors that contribute to elevated sleep disturbances in youth with autism. She is the founder of Broad Science, an initiative dedicated to making science inclusive, engaging and intersectional through podcasting. Currently, Rackeb is a science columnist for CBC Radio in Montreal, Canada. Rackeb is also a vocal advocate for accessible science communication training for graduate students and for diversity and inclusion in STEM. She sits on the organizing committee for ComSciCon Canada and Black in Neuro. She acts as a mentor for Canada's Chief Scientist's Youth Council and serves on the committee for various science communication organizations, including Falling Walls Engage and the SciComm Training Network..
