Dr. Nicole Foster is a MSCA Postdoctoral researcher at Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Blanes in Spain but is originally from Adelaide, Australia which is where she completed her PhD. Nicole leverages molecular and geochemical approaches to characterise marine communities and understand biodiversity changes both in the present day and historically, in response to environmental changes. She has a particular passion and interest in seagrass ecosystems and uses her research to better manage these habitats. Nicole has been previously recognised for her research achievements including being selected to attend the 2020 Lindau Nobel Laureate meeting and receiving the South Australia Young Achievement award in the STEM category in 2022. Nicole is passionate about inclusivity in STEM and is motivated to apply her research to protect seagrass ecosystems for generations to come.

"I aim to lead a career in science that is collaborative, working with fellow researchers to achieve the goals of a sustainable, healthy marine environment and promote the protection and conservation of seagrass habitats globally."

Nicole Foster is a part of the Falling Walls Female Science Talents Intensive Track 2025.
