Martin Zwierlein is Professor of Physics at MIT. He studied physics in Bonn, ENS Paris, and MIT with a PhD on the observation of superfluidity in ultracold Fermi gases, a novel form of quantum matter. Zwierlein studies atomic and molecular quantum gases as model matter for superconductors, quantum magnets and topological materials. His awards include the Klung-Wilhelmy Prize, Packard Fellowship, PECASE, the I.I. Rabi Prize, Vannevar Bush Faculty Fellowship, and the Humboldt Research Prize.
Martin Zwierlein is a 2024 Falling Walls winner in the Physical Sciences category.
