Joy Offere

Joy Offere, a dedicated social entrepreneur and Software Engineering student at the African Leadership University, focuses on leveraging digital technology and storytelling to enhance education and empower youth. Her passion centres around bridging the gender gap in technology through Shenovate, her initiative aimed at educating 5,000 women and girls in coding, robotics, and technology skills to address real-world challenges.

Joy Offere's 2024 Falling Walls Engage Winner Project is Shenovate.

Shenovate empowers girls and women aged with coding, robotics, and technology skills focused on climate-related applications, fostering gender equality in S.T.E.M. and enabling participants to directly contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation in their communities. Through training in climate data analysis, mobile app development for carbon footprint reduction, and website design for environmental education, the project equips participants to contribute to mitigation efforts.
