Dr David Hall is Executive Director of Toha Network which is building digital infrastructure for nature and climate action. He has a DPhil in Politics from University of Oxford, teaches climate action at AUT University in Aotearoa New Zealand, and makes contributions to research on climate change policy, land use, sustainable finance and just transitions. This includes his role as Principal Investigator for AUT’s Living Laboratories Programme of nature-based solutions which uses native forest to address climate-related risks. Other recent roles include Independent Specialist Advisor for the New Zealand Government's Inquiry into Climate Adaptation, Member of the Aotearoa New Zealand Sustainable Finance Taxonomy Technical Expert Group, Contributing Author to IPCC's Sixth Assessment Report (Working Group 2), and Honorary Fellow of the Hanken Centre for Accounting, Finance and Governance. He has written widely for a range of specialist and general publications, including a collection of essays, A Careful Revolution: Towards a Low-Emissions Future. He also advises on climate-related issues for local and central government, business and the financial sector.
