Bruna is the founder of Sinaliza, an Edtech company that offers low-cost, high-quality education for deaf students in Brazil, preparing to Brazilian colleges’ and universities’ entrance exam. Since 2020, Sinaliza has taught over 70 deaf students in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras). Bruna is an Sign Language Interpreter, has a Bachelor in Chemical Enginieering and is currently studying for a doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering in Universidade de São Paulo. Almost 10 million Brazilians are deaf or hard or hearing. That is 5% of the country’s population. However, only 7 thousand are enrolled in higher education courses. Sinaliza is an Edtech company that offers low-cost, high-quality education for deaf students in Brazil. We are the first online preparation course in sign language for “Enem”, the entrance exam used by most Brazilian colleges and universities. We were able to educate over 70 deaf students in less than two years. Classes are taught exclusively in Libras, the Brazilian Sign Language, by deaf and bilingual hearing teachers. Students also have access to live tutoring in sign language, vocational orientation and administrative support.
