Johannes Stangl is a junior researcher and PhD candidate at the Complexity Science Hub Vienna and the Institute for Ecological Economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He is a co-initiator of the Fridays For Future climate strike movement in Austria and has been a climate activist ever since. After studying physics, computational science, and philosophy, Johannes entered the realm of complex systems research to work on computational models of the socio-ecological transformation of the economy and the energy transition. He is a co-founder of klimadashboard.at – a website that works with data visualizations to convey facts and figures about the climate crisis.
