Frederica Barbugian studied Biotechnology and graduated in Industrial Biotechnology in July 2020 at the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy) with a thesis on Biofabrication of vascularized tissue model by combining template leaching additive manufacturing with hydrogels. In 2020, she started a PhD at the University of Milano-Bicocca in the BioOrganic Chemistry group. The project is about neural engineering. This involves the manufacturing of a 3D pathophysiological in vitro device able to mimic and then study the recurrence of glioblastoma. What Frederica wants is to grow mini-brains to solve big problems.
