Lemar Hurtado Hoyos is addressing issues of low food and tech sovereignty, agricultural productivity, and ecological footprint in Cuba by proposing a solution that involves hydroponics for year-round production of edible mushrooms, vegetables, and high-quality flowers. This approach aims to contribute to the circular economy, reduce waste, prioritise local resources, and improve the yield and quality of various crops while maintaining low carbon footprint through the use of a biofertilizer called Nerea.
