Maltiti Mohammed is addressing the environmental and human health impacts of plastic waste in Ghana by proposing a sustainable solution – a clothing and accessories company that exclusively uses recycled plastic. By melting and extruding plastic into filaments, then turning them into yarn for fabric production, his project aims to reduce plastic waste disposal in water bodies and drainage systems while creating beautiful fabrics similar to regular polyester clothing.
