Breaking the Wall of Inefficient Fuel Cell Catalysts

Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) convert H2 and O2 into clean electricity, enabling a clean alternative to the conventional combustion engine vehicles (ICEs) in the transport sector. However, to do so, they use catalyst materials that are based on the inefficient use of expensive and rare platinum.
ReCatalyst is start-up (spin-out) from the National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana, Slovenia that produces (hydrogen) PEM fuel cell catalysts. Our products are based on a patent-pending nano-technology that eliminates poorly utilized Pt, thus, decreasing the catalyst production costs by 50% as well as lowering the fuel cell system costs by 30%.
By revolutionizing the way we make fuel cell catalysts, we are bringing a unique solution to the pressing need for optimizing the currently inefficient use of scarce and expensive platinum, thus enabling a sustainable ramp-up of PEMFC technology.
