Tomislav Stolar is addressing the pervasive issue of plastic pollution and the limited recycling of single-use plastics by developing a sustainable technology for chemical recycling, which aims to achieve a circular plastics economy. This innovative approach, using an ancient grinding technique, not only contributes to environmental preservation but also aligns with the EU goal of recycling 100% of plastic packaging by 2030.

Breaking the Wall of Circular Plastics Economy
Tomislav Stolar
Tomislav Stolar received his PhD in chemistry and has published many peer-reviewed scientific publications. He has been a principal investigator on several international research projects and has given multiple invited lectures. As a Co-Founder of SeaCras startup, Tomislav has helped to raise over 350 000 EUR in grants. In his current research project at BAM, he is developing a sustainable and economically viable technology for the chemical recycling of plastic waste. This technology is a significant advancement towards achieving a circular plastics economy because it uses different waste streams and drastically reduces energy consumption and processing costs.
