“Du sollst den Wald nicht vor dem Hasen loben-You shall not praise the forest before the hare” is a thought-provoking, touching and oftentimes funny piece about forgetting, remembering, repression, and losing oneself; a play that questions what it means when a person drifts into dementia and there are no longer any certainties. Following the play, two neuroscientists will answer questions from the audience in a joint discussion with the production team. This event will take place at a theater and will also be streamed live via YouTube.

France-Elena Damian was born as daughter of Romanian ballet dancers and raised in Brasov (Romania). In 1988 she fled to Germany with her family. Graduated from the Berlin „Ernst Busch“ drama academy as theatre director, she directed at the theatres in Magdeburg, Coburg, Darmstadt, Schwerin, Halle, in Berlin at Deutsches Theater, Sophiensaele, Heimathafen Neukölln, and in New York. With Kollektiv Gianni Maccaroni she creates perceptible utopias and promotes the coming together of people. She jointly acts together with present-day dramatist Stefan Peca. She founded the association Pro Quote Bühne who claim a 50 % women’s quota at artistic theatre departments. Since January 2018 she is part of the artistic directors’ team of tak – Theater Aufbau Kreuzberg, Berlin.
