The Children Math-Art Exhibits were started by Experience Workshop and Nelson Mandela University in South Africa. The goal is that children themselves actively explore new sources of maths and art education through transdisciplinary artworks, which express various connections between mathematics and arts. Any child could submit artworks for the open call and the response was tremendous. International research groups study the material and STEAM educational program is started on a national level.

Experience Workshop STEAM Education Network

I am a researcher of STEAM education, which is the integrated approach to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics learning. I am working at the Finnish Institute for Educational Research. Since 2011, I am the Director of Community Events of the world’s largest mathematics, arts, and education community, the Bridges Organization (USA). In 2008, I started the Experience Workshop STEAM Network to involve thousands of children in math-art-education events worldwide.
