This collaboration between 3 curators explores the highly topical due to the pandemic societal issues raised by technology’s increasing engagement with human emotions. Drawing on the latest in neuro & cognitive sciences, and the complex relationship between mind & body, 20 international artists & 3 new commissions were selected to inquire & show how technology today represents, manipulates & changes our emotions. The exhibition could not have been more topical. The nomination is for 3 curators.

Sabine Himmelsbach: director of HeK (House of Electronic Arts Basel) since 2012. Exhibition director at ZKM Karlsruhe (1999-2005) & artistic director Edith-Russ-House for Media Art in Oldenburg (2005-2011).

Ariane Koek: independent arts/science/tech producer, curator, writer & consultant. Founder and Head of Arts at CERN (2009-2015) & Earth Water Sky residency at Science Gallery Venice (from 2018-).

Angelique Spaninks: General & creative lead MU Hybrid Art Space from 2005, director of STRP Biennial for Creative Technology 2012-2018 & co-curator Guangzhou Triennial 2019/2020.
