Sarah Hunter leads X’s Public Policy team and helps governments and policymakers around the world understand new technologies and their impacts. Prior to joining X in 2013, she ran Google’s Public Policy in the UK. But long before the internet was invented, Sarah was a policy wonk. Before she was old enough to vote, she volunteered for a young Tony Blair during her school holidays, and later worked on many election campaigns for the Labour Party. After a stint with the BBC and Channel 4, she developed an expertise in broadcasting policy and worked as a Special Adviser for the Minister of Culture. She went on to join Prime Minister Blair in Downing Street, working as his Senior Policy Adviser on Culture, Media and Sport for 4 years and working on a wide range of issues, including the London 2012 Olympic bid.
