Dr. Marinos Ioannides is a BSc, MSc & Dr-Eng. graduate of the University of Stuttgart. He has a multidisciplinary engineering background in Informatics and Mechanical Engineering focusing on complex databases and 3D object reconstructions in Cultural Heritage. Currently, he is Chair of the Digital Heritage Research Lab at CUT. His pioneering work has received several awards: the IBM-Germany prize in 1993, the EU KIT in 1996, the prestigious Tartessos prize in 2010, the UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage in 2017, the EU ERA Chair in Digital Cultural Heritage in 2018 with 2,5 MEuro. Since 2020, he is a corresponding member of the German Archaeological Institute.
