By uncovering this dependence of brain cancers on normal brain signals, our work is having a major impact and is leading to completely novel clinical approaches for treating these lethal tumors.

Michelle Monje

Stanford University

Michelle Monje is an associate professor of neurology at Stanford University. She is a neuroscientist and pediatric neuro-oncologist focused on caring for children and young adults with brain cancer. She received her MD and PhD in neuroscience from Stanford, and trained in neurology at Harvard. Her research program focuses on the intersection of neuroscience and brain cancer biology, seeking to elucidate how brain cancers interact with the normal brain.
