Dr Raj B Apte is an engineer-entrepreneur currently leading a new team at X to revolutionize electronics in the post-Moore’s law world. Previously he launched Malta Inc, an X project that is now a Gates-funded start-up providing grid-scale energy storage making renewable energy cheaper and more reliable than coal. While at Xerox PARC, he and his team invented and commercialized ultrasonic biometrics, now a Qualcomm product, and digital medical radiography, now a ubiquitous technology. He was educated at Stanford and Berkeley, and has published 78 US patents and 76 technical articles.
