The Managing Director of the Falling Walls Foundation, Tatjana König, will join the Körber Foundation. Program Director Felix Rundel will take over the management of Falling Walls as interim leader.

Berlin, 27 June 2019. Tatjana König, Managing Director of the Falling Walls Foundation gGmbH since 2013, will join the Executive Board of the Körber Foundation from 1 January 2020.

Professor Jürgen Mlynek, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Falling Walls Foundation and Falling Walls founder Sebastian Turner thank Tatjana König for her great work and building of the organisation.

Jürgen Mlynek: “We all thank Tatjana König. She co-wrote the very impressive development of the Falling Walls Foundation and made a significant contribution to its success. While we greatly regret her departure, we wish her all the best for her new endeavors.”

Sebastian Turner: “The BBC calls Falling Walls the conference with the brightest minds on the planet. This international reputation is the result of the work of Tatjana König and her team. The fact that she has been appointed to become a leader at a long-time partner of Falling Walls, shows the trust her work has earned.

Felix Rundel, program director of many years and executive director, will temporarily take over the operational business of the Falling Walls Foundation gGmbH.

 

The Falling Walls Foundation
The Falling Walls Foundation is a non-profit organisation in Berlin which holds the international Falling Walls Conference each year on the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. At the Conference, around 20 leading international scientists are each given 15 minutes to present their breakthroughs in the natural and social sciences, business and technology. The Falling Walls Foundation also coordinates the Berlin Science Week. For the fourth year in a row, the event will bring scientists of institutions from all over the world to Berlin. The event takes place from 1 to 10 November. The Falling Walls Foundation is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres, the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Berlin Senate, as well as by numerous scientific institutions, foundations and companies.
