Berlin, 29 October 2015. The Falling Walls Lab finalists come from over 40 countries and are working in the most diverse fields of research, but they are all pursuing a common goal: they want to overcome social problems and challenges with their ideas. In one of 34 internationally held Labs or through a direct selection process, 100 talents have qualified to participate in the Finale of the Falling Walls Lab in Berlin. Here, the next generation of top scientists, professionals and entrepreneurs will each have three minutes to present their research results, business ideas and initiatives. These include a portable spectroscope for the early detection of heart attacks and a research project that uses the theory of relativity in order to develop the high-speed computer of tomorrow.

The three presenters with the most innovative ideas will be awarded the title ‘Falling Walls Young Innovators of the Year 2015’ by a high-calibre jury from science and industry and will get to present their ideas the next day in front of around 700 guests at the international Falling Walls Conference. The jury is led by Professor Carl-Henrik Heldin, Chairman of the Nobel Foundation, and Dr Luca Rossi, Partner, Head of Europe, Middle East, and Africa, A.T. Kearney (a list of all members of the jury can be found at: http://www.falling-walls.com/lab/jury).
