Berlin, 18.03.2021. It is the breakthrough work of scientists that will allow us to reunite! After a fully digital 2020, we look forward to welcoming the people who are envisioning solutions, pushing boundaries, and helping to discover a better world back to Berlin on the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on 7-9 November 2021.
Global Call for Nominations
To make the Falling Walls Conference 2021 the celebration that outstanding science deserves, we are inviting all universities, academies, scientific institutions, companies, foundations as well as scientists across the globe to nominate their most impressive current research work in our ten breakthrough categories from Life Sciences to Future Learning until 15 June at falling-walls.com/breakthroughyear. Our distinguished juries, chaired by Helga Nowotny, President Emeritus of the European Research Council, will identify the most impressive work. The ten Science Breakthroughs of the Year 2021 will be presented live on stage in Berlin and broadcast via livestream to a global audience. To get an idea of how impressive one year of scientific findings can be, take a look at last year’s breakthroughs and the brilliant minds behind the work.
The pandemic has taught the scientific community to put more emphasis on dialogue with society. That is why we have reconceived the Falling Walls Conference and added a full day of debates and encounters.
