Village Data Analytics (VIDA) is a transformational project management and analytics software for infrastructure investment into remote village economies in developing countries (ca. 2bn people). VIDA can analyse villages for investment, such as electrification, anywhere in the world at an entirely new accuracy, speed and scale. For that, it uses earth observation, on-ground datasets and a set of proprietary, machine learning algorithms.
Currently, VIDA is used by companies (mini-grid developers, solar home system providers, telecom tower operators), banks (WB, KfW), and governments in Pakistan, Myanmar, India, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Madagaskar, Lesotho, Sudan, Mozambique and Kenya, to plan investments of >$1.5bn into >5,000 remote villages.
With VIDA, these customers have unprecedented, near-real time insights and transparency to plan, monitor and measure the effectiveness of large-scale investments into some of the world’s poorest regions.
