Jitka Dobbersteinová has been working in the field of academic libraries and information science since 2000. She worked as a library manager for the British Council Slovakia and as a freelance trainer in academic publishing. In recent years she has concentrated on the area of Open Science. At the beginning of 2019, she became the Head of the Contact Office for Open Science in the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (SCSTI) in Bratislava. Since 2018 she has been actively involved in the OpenAIRE Advance project for the Slovak Republic.

The Contact Office for Open Science was established by the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (SCSTI) together with the specialized scientific library of the SR (focused on natural, technical, economic, and social sciences). The office aims to advocate for all aspects of open science and offers informational and educational support for Slovak academics and librarian community.
The mission of the Contact Office includes:
- Improving the access of Slovak academic community to electronic information resources;
- Streamlining of science communication in Slovakia;
- Promoting open science in the Slovak academic community, with an important role of citizen science as a way to connect scientists with the public;
- Opening the Slovak academic and library community to the world, increasing the visibility of Slovak science, and networking of Slovak scientists and institutions with international partners.
