Remote usability testing of mobile applications is of increasing importance. However, tools that are currently on the market do not allow for deep insights into users‘ cognitive processes as they focus on superficial methods that do not provide insights into the question of why people act the way they do. oculid fills this gap by combining behavioural methods and self-reporting with the use of eye tracking. Eye tracking provides insights into cognitive processes as the location of the gaze is strongly correlated with the focus of attention. It furthermore provides insights into levels of cognitive load and distraction. It thereby provides insights into users minds and can contribute greatly towards to the effort of making applications more user friendly.
