Prof. Dr. Norbert Palz has been president of the Berlin University of the Arts since April 2020. Norbert Palz studied architecture at the TU Berlin. In 2012, he received his doctorate on additive manufacturing methods in architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After a professorship for “Digital Construction and Design” at the Münster School of Architecture, he joined the Berlin University of the Arts in 2010 as Professor for “Digital and Experimental Design”. Norbert Palz focuses his research on digital geometry and fabrication, in particular on the potentials of large-scale additive printing. He also investigates the computer art of the post-war era and its theoretical and cultural significance for the contemporary architectural design. From 2015 to 2019, Norbert Palz was Vice-Dean of the College of Architecture, Media and Design and, from 2018 to 2020, First Vice-President of the Berlin University of the Arts.
