Dr. Nicholas Edwards is a Research Associate at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, CA, USA. He works with intense x-rays generated by a particle accelerator called a synchrotron. Currently he helps to support the X-ray fluorescence imaging experimental stations where they are able to non-destructively image trace chemical elements within an object. His personal research is on using this technique to study cultural and natural heritage artifacts such as ancient manuscripts and fossils.
