INTERNATIONAL LAB WINNERS Download section

International Lab Winners are welcome to find all information needed in preparation for their participation in the Falling Walls Lab Finale (Emerging Talents category of the Falling Walls) by browsing through the documents below and submitting the required materials.

STEP 1 - ORGANISE YOUR TRIP

  • IMPORTANT UPDATE (10 September 2021): Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a new policy has been implemented for the event venue to ensure the health and safety of our guests. All guests, including Lab winners, will only be able to attend the event with evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19 (with a vaccine approved by a national regulatory authority) or recovery. We will be checking proof of vaccination/recovery upon entry to the venue. Additionally, all guests will be asked to present a negative COVID-19 test result. More information regarding testing opportunities will be provided prior to the event. Once in the venue, mask policies and ventilation measures will help ensure the safety of all attendees. Please make sure you also research the current entry requirements for Germany. While winners vaccinated with some non-EU approved vaccines will still be able to enter our venue, they may encounter travel restrictions (quarantine/testing requirements, etc.) upon entry into the country. Should travel restrictions apply, you will have to decide if in-person attendance remains the preferred form of participation. For those unable to attend in person, alternative forms of participation will be provided, meaning that all international Lab winners will still receive the opportunity to compete in the global Finale.
  • Confirm your participation via lab@falling-walls.com (“I confirm my participation in the 2021 Falling Walls Lab Finale. I will take part in-person/online.”)

Only guests who can show a negative COVID-19 test on the day of arrival and from that day may be accommodated at the hotel. You are permitted to bring your own rapid test and take it at the hotel. In addition, a negative COVID-19 test must be presented on every third day of the stay. Guests who can prove they are fully vaccinated with an EU-approved vaccine or recently recovered (past six months) are exempt from the testing requirement. Please understand that the hotel cannot check you in if you cannot provide proof as above. COVID-19 tests will be available at no cost at some events (please consult the detailed programme).
  • Should you have any questions, have a look at the FAQ (last updated: 3 September 2021) for International Lab Winners. For questions not answered there, please do not hesitate to contact Meghan via lab@falling-walls.com.
  • REMINDER: Please familiarise yourself with the rules and regulations regarding entering Germany at this time (incl. possible testing & quarantine requirements and digital registration on entry). • Read through the Pitch Briefing
  • Download the PowerPoint Template for International Lab Winners and prepare your PowerPoint presentation – IMPORTANT: We will only accept presentations created with this template

Our editors will add the PowerPoint presentation to the video following the instructions you provide in the PowerPoint file. Visual aids/props are permitted in the video, however, in the interest of keeping the competition as fair as possible, only props that can theoretically be carried onto the stage in Berlin are allowed (without assistance or time for setting up).
