Congratulations to the Falling Walls Young Innovators of the Year 2017!

The 7th Falling Walls Lab Finale in Berlin took place on 8 November 2017. This year's jury was chaired by Claudie Haigneré, Astronaut and Advisor to the Director General at the European Space Agency. Together the high-ranking jury from business, science and research, nominated three winners:

1st prize

Agnes Reiner, Universität Wien / AIT Austrian Institute of Technology / Medizinische Universität Wien / A*Star Singapore

2nd prize

Ashwin Charles, Universiti Malaysia Pahang

Breaking the Wall of Wastewater Treatment

3rd place

Srilahari Namani, AIMST University

Breaking the Wall of Mosquito Borne Diseases

The Audience Award went to Montaser Mohammedalamen from the University of Khartoum in Sudan. He convinced the livestream audience and the guests at the Falling Walls Lab of his idea on Breaking the Wall of Disability trough the Brain – he created a system that allows wheelchairs to be directly controlled by brainwaves.
