Michael Conrad began his career in advertising as a copywriter at Young & Rubicam Frankfurt in 1968. In the seventies, he co-founded TBWA Frankfurt and Lürzer, Conrad Frankfurt, which later became Michael Conrad & Leo Burnett. Michael Conrad became President and Chief Creative Officer of Leo Burnett International in Chicago in 1986 and a decade later Vice Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of Leo Burnett Worldwide. Under his leadership 27 Leo Burnett agencies were listed as “Agency Of The Year”, Advertising Age named Leo Burnett Worldwide “Global Agency Of The Year” and Leo Burnett Worldwide was the “Most Awarded Agency In The World” at the Gunn Report. Since his retirement in 2003, Michael Conrad chaired many juries of local, regional and global advertising festivals and is honorary member of the Art Director Clubs of Germany, Austria and Europe. He co-founded the “Berlin School of Creative Leadership” at Steinbeis University together with the ADC Germany and serves as its president.
