Agnes Reiner graduated in Biotechnology from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. For her Master thesis she worked at the Molecular Oncology Group at the Medical University of Vienna and studied blood-based biomarkers for the detection of breast cancer. Agnes Reiner pursued her PhD studies within the International Graduate School in Nanobiotechnology and worked on the detection and analysis of extracellular vesicles with plasmonic biosensors for ovarian cancer diagnosis. With the presentation of the work on her PhD-project she won the 2017 Falling Walls Lab in Berlin. Now, Agnes Reiner works at the Institute of Physiological Chemistry at the University of Vienna, where she combines the field of taste research with oncology.
