INTERNATIONAL LAB WINNERS Download section

International Lab Winners are welcome to find all information needed in preparation for their participation in the global Falling Walls Lab finale (Emerging Talents category of the Falling Walls Science Summit) by browsing through the documents below and submitting the required materials.

STEP 1 - ORGANISE YOUR TRIP

  • IMPORTANT: To make the Falling Walls Science Summit as safe as possible, the Falling Walls Foundation has decided to only allow participants who have been fully vaccinated and/or boostered with a vaccine approved by a national regulatory authority, as well as those who have recovered from COVID-19 (between 28-90 days prior to the event), onto the premises.

IN-PERSON Participants

  • Familiarise yourself with the Event Locations & Directions. If you are staying at our partner hotel, the address is: Park Inn by Radisson Berlin Alexanderplatz, Alexanderplatz 7, 10178 Berlin.
  • You are responsible for researching the current entry requirements for Germany. The Federal Foreign Office of Germany offers helpful information regarding COVID-19 entry regulations and restrictions on their website. Should travel restrictions apply, you will have to decide if in-person attendance remains your preferred form of participation. For those unable to attend in person, an alternative form of participation will be provided, meaning that all international Lab winners will still receive the opportunity to compete in the global finale.

  • Various events will be available online for you to watch and take part in:

    • 7 November
      • 9am – 6pm CET: Watch the global Falling Walls Lab finale via livestream here.
    • 8 November
      • 2pm – 5pm CET: You are cordially invited to take part in an online exclusive event on Empathy for Innovators, hosted by Young Entrepreneurs in Science. Further information is available here. Registration Deadline: 6 November 2022.
      • 9am – 6pm CET: Watch the Falling Walls Circle Round Tables via livestream here.
      • 9am – 6pm CET: Watch the Falling Walls Circle Plenary Tables via livestream here.
    • 9 November
      • 9am – 5:30pm CET: Watch the Falling Walls Breakthrough Day via livestream here.

STEP 2 - PREPARE YOUR PRESENTATION & VIDEO

  • Get a feel for this year’s Lab finale by watching last year’s Highlights Video and Past Winning Pitches.
  • Read through the Pitch Briefing.
  • Prepare your PowerPoint presentation using the PowerPoint Template.

IN-PERSON Participants

  • Familiarise yourself with the Stage Setup.
  • Know in advance how to move your presentation forward with the Presentation Clicker.

Online Participants

  • Read through the Video Pitch Briefing and record your video pitch.

STEP 3 - ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Download your Winner Button and share it via social media.
  • Learn when you will be presenting with the Order of Presentations.
  • Invite others to watch your moment on stage with the Livestream Flyer.

IN-PERSON Participants

  • From the Brandenburg Gate to the East Side Gallery, there are many sights worth seeing in Berlin. Don’t know where to start? The visitBerlin website is sure to help!
  • If you are in need of a COVID-19 before or after the Science Summit, feel free to consult the list of COVID-19 Test Centres in Berlin file.
  • In-person participants who are arriving in Berlin on 5 November: It is not permitted to bring your luggage with you to the Intro Event location. Check-in at our partner hotel is possible starting at 3 pm. However, guests are welcome to store their luggage at the hotel prior to check-in.
