Female Science Talents GATHERING 2022
On the 28th and 29th of July 2022, (3pm-6pm CEST) the Falling Walls Foundation will once again be hosting its free online networking event, the Female Science Talents Gathering. Our partners, the Bayer Foundation, the Elsevier Foundation and the Körber Stiftung, will support us in bringing together female science talents from all over the world to share their experiences and introduce their projects. Our purpose is to help boost the careers of female scientists by creating a space within which to build personal connections with like-minded women determined to reach their ambitions and contribute to a more inclusive and just world.
Engaging with the theme “Female Leadership, Power and Empowerment”, participants will discuss and learn about topics such as gender equality and equity in science, business, and society. The aim is to better equip participants in navigating power relations while carrying out research or leading a project. We strongly believe that to break through the ‘glass ceiling’ in leadership we need to re-define power and invest in the empowerment of women in science.
The gathering will be comprised of interactive networking activities. On our first day we will have a panel with outstanding women such as Injonge Karangwa, University of Global Health Equity, Irene Selvanathan, CEO and founder of Neurospace, Dr. Marianna Prokopi-Demetriades, RSL Revolutionary Labs Ltd., Prof. Nicole Rinehart, Monash University, who will engage in a discussion on female leadership, on being visionary and also on identifying resources for empowerment. On our second day we will welcome Prof. Martina Schraudner, Director of Technologie-Stiftung Berlin, and Prof. Maria Leptin, President of the European Research Council, to a Role Model Talk on Diversity and Intersectionality in science and academia. Feel free to view our archived events to get a sense of what’s to come.
