Eröffnungspanel der Reihe „Forschen für den Wandel: sozial-ökologische Perspektiven für Berlin“.

Klimakrise, Artensterben, Digitaler Wandel oder wachsende Ungleichheiten stellen nicht nur Wirtschaft, Politik und Gesellschaft, sondern auch die Wissenschaft vor die Systemfrage: Wie kann die Forschung praxisrelevante Lösungsansätze entwickeln und zum Katalysator für den Wandel werden? Braucht es Veränderungen im Wissenschaftssystem, um den aktuellen sozialen und ökologischen Krisen zu begegnen? Und wie können Berliner Wissenschaftsinstitutionen sozial-ökologische Transformationen in Berlin vordenken, begleiten oder anregen?

Diese Fragen möchten wir mit Vertreter/innen unterschiedlicher Forschungseinrichtungen aus Berlin und mit den Teilnehmenden diskutieren. Diese Veranstaltung bildet den Auftakt der Reihe „Forschen für den Wandel: sozial-ökologische Perspektiven für Berlin“ des transdisziplinären Forschungsverbunds Ecornet Berlin (www.ecornet.berlin).

Anke Herold

Öko-Institut e.V.

Director

Anke Herold is a geo-ecologist and scientific director of the Oeko-Institut e.V. – Institute for Applied Ecology Research. From 2008 to 2018 she was research coordinator for international climate protec-tion and works at the Oeko-Institut in Berlin since 1997. Anke Herold is lead-author of various IPCC reports and was a member of the German delegation for the international climate negotiations from 1999 to 2018. Since July 2020, she is a co-speaker of the research alliance “Know-ledge.Transformation.Berlin”.

Thomas Korbun

Institut für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung

Scientific Director

Thomas Korbun has been Scientific Director of the Berlin-based Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) since 1999 and co-speaker of the Ecological Research Network (Ecornet) since 2012. Prior to this, the biologist was Scientific Coordinator at the Brandenburg State Agency for Large Pro-tected Areas in Eberswalde and Researcher in the Department of Nature Conservation at the Universi-ty of Marburg. Since July 2020, Thomas Korbun is a co-speaker of the research alliance “Knowledge.Transformation.Berlin”.

Gabriele Wendorf

Scientific Director, Centre for Technology and Society (ZTG)

The management engineer Dr. Gabriele Wendorf has been third vice president of TU Berlin from June 2008 to March 2014. Since June 2014, together with Prof. Dr. Dr. Martina Schäfer, she leads the Centre for Technology and Society (ZTG) as Scientific Director.

Research Group Leader „Multifunctional Landscapes“, Integrative Research Institute on Transformations of Human-Environment Systems (IRI THESys)

Dr. Ina Säumel holds a MSc in Geography, a MSc in Biology and a PhD in Ecology. She works as assistant professor and leads the research group on Multifunctional Landscapes since 2014 at TU Berlin and shifted in 2018 to the Integrative Research Institute on Transformations of Human-Environment Systems (IRI THESys) at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Ina conducts and supervises research on urban and landscape ecology, land use change, sustainable use of resources and environmental pollution.
